Howdy all!
I just registered for The Race For The Cure. This is a 5K which raises money for breast cancer research. I am running in honor of Mama. My goal as a fundraiser is $25. If you would like to help support me, you can visit my personal page at:
Click to make a donation
On the page you will see a button that says 'Support Lisa'. This will bring you to a page where an online donation can be made. There is also an offline page that can be printed out and mailed in.
The race in Atlanta that I am registered for is May 8. If you would like to see about a race in your area, check it out:

My One Day
I am sitting here in my warm home with my kids all tucked away in bed upstairs. Safe, sound, healthy. Why am I the one that gets to have such peace in my life? Layla Grace is literally fighting for her life and her momma has to stand by and just watch. Watch her baby, that grew inside her body, live out her last days. She has to watch. And wait.
When I read her latest blog entry, I immediately turned around and went back to my own little ones and kissed each one. I know I am blessed to have the chaos that I call "My Life". Even in the midst of what we commonly call "the witching hour", I am well aware that 'one day' I will yearn for this time of my life.
One day, my house, too, will be quiet.
One day, I will be able to do what I want, when I want.
One day, I will clean a room and it will stay that way for longer than 10 minutes.
Because I know this, when it gets nutty, I am able to repeat to myself, "enjoy it while you have it because 'one day' it will be gone". Thank you, Lord, today is not my 'one day'. But it is Layla Grace's mom's.
Please pray for a miracle. A big 'ol miracle.

Winter Wonderland
This is the view from my bedroom window.
(remember the tracks made from Abby's snowball yesterday showing the grass?)
Paige woke me up this morning asking if she could go outside and play. Guess I better go make sure the stuff is dry from yesterday...

Snow Again!
It began snowing earlier today. This little bit was when we were waiting for the girls to home from school.
Then this is Abby making a snowman (well, part of one at least). Take notice of how you can see the grass...
It snowed some more.
Then a neighbor got out his 4 wheeler...
Paige is taking her turn. (Even Jenna Bug got in on the action later.)
Now it was starting to get dark and the kids were about to go in.
But I convinced them to let me take 1 more picture.
Check out the accumulation at the fence!
I am looking out my back windows right now. I can't get a picture because it's too dark, but it is absolutely gorgeous outside! It has snowed so much, that it doesn't even look like anyone has been in the back at all. Did you see the grass showing as Abby used up the snow for the snowman? Now, there is a blanket of white inches deep. Hopefully I can get a picture in the morning. It was so peaceful to watch the flakes come down. It was puffy, powdery snow that was fun to play in!!!! I only wish Chris was here to play, too!

2 Quotes From Today
Jenna talks. Jenna loves to talk. Jenna loves to talk a lot. Well, we were in the car waiting for the girls to get out of school. Jenna had been talking nonstop for 6 hours. I finally said, "Jenna! You have GOT to stop talking for 2 minutes! Please. Don't you ever get tired of talking?" To which she replied, "Nope."
Adam took a bubble bath tonight. We did it early so he could be in there by himself and play for a while (which never happens). He called me in when he was done and he was shivering. I asked him if he was cold and he said yes. I said, "That is what happens when you're in the water a long time. The water gets cold." He said, "The water's not cold." Me: "The water's not cold? Then why are you shivering? How did you get cold?" Then he said, "I'm cold because I'm not hot."

Christmas Eve '09
Christmas Eve at the farm was a pretty relaxed day. Chris enjoyed not being on an airplane and we just hung out and enjoyed the day. We decided to go to an early Christmas Eve service so the kids weren't up super late. Chris's parents, Nana and Papa, came over and spent some time with us.
That used to be our tradition before we moved to Georgia. So it felt great to be able to do that again. Papa was coerced (although it wasn't hard convincing) to read A Cajun Night Before Christmas to us. We all absolutely LOVED hearing him read.
It won't be your last time, Papa!
A Prayer of Thanksgiving
Thank you to Holly Knowles for this prayer of thanksgiving for mama, who came out of surgery with a successful lumpectomy and the awesome news that the cancer had not spread to any nodes!
Thank you, Jesus. You are our Rock and Redeemer. We praise Your holy name for Your mercies are ever new. Continue to keep her in the shadow of Your wing as she heals.

Mama's Prayer
Lord, Almighty Father, God of All,
in the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. I praise you because Mama is fearfully and wonderfully made. You set her apart before she was born. You have plans for her. Plans to prosper her and not harm her. Lord, keep your holy hands around her and hold her tight. Guide the doctors' eyes and hands so they can use the gift You gave them to successfully remove the cancer from my mama. Lord, let there be no other poisen in her body. Thank You for Your goodness. Let nothing separate Mama from You. You have called my mama by name. She is Yours.
Amen
