Pencils, Crayons, and Lunch Boxes
As hard as it is to believe, tomorrow is the first Friday of the school year.
*poof*
A week is gone!
People kept checking on me and asking how I was doing with Hannah going into middle school. The amazing thing is that I am not sad. Nostalgic? Absolutely. Not looking forward to the trials and tribulations of the next few years? Without a doubt. But I'm excited. There will be so much fun to be had and I can't wait to be a part of it! We will do things that we've never done before and make some awesome memories.
And here is a first for me: Hannah made cookies for her teachers for the first day of school. By herself. Homemade. From scratch. She checked a book out of the library (what did she choose? Martha Stewart for crying out loud!) and chose a recipe. I bought the items she needed and she got busy.
And I will tell you, scrumptious does not even begin to describe her Chocolate Crackles. Chris has already demanded them at Christmas time!
And then the next day...
my 5th grader
my 3rd grader
my 1st grader
my other 1st grader
Hannah's school bus doesn't come for an hour later and she was sleeping while we were taking pictures.
But she surprised me and came walking out! I was so excited to have gotten a picture with all 5 of them!
Here is our bus stop. There's not very many kids at our stop. ;-)
And now my 6th grader
So far, she is having a great time and meeting new friends.
It's gonna to be a good year!
