Easter Celebration

Easter Sunday at the Glynn house is not the same as it is in Texas. But it was a fun and relaxing day full of lasting memories (at least I hope it is!). All day long, the kids would say "He is risen!" and another one would follow up with "He is risen indeed" and all would say "Hallelujah!"

Saturday night we had a celebration with the neighbors and had an egg hunt and pizza. I love my neighborhood and as I walked down to the cul-da-sac, my heart smiled as I looked at all the people hanging out and whose company I enjoy!

After the kids woke up, they went downstairs and found a surprise from the Easter Bunny. This year he hid their Easter baskets and they had to find them. It was funny hearing them shriek as they looked. Then we went to the middle service on Sunday morning and had a good sermon. The thing that stuck with me and Chris was when Pastor Kevin said that you can't have Jesus' words without having Jesus.

Somehow I always manage to miss my picture opportunity before everyone changes clothes. But not this year!

One of the things we do now is if we are not having a celebration on Sunday, we wait and dye our eggs after church. It's been fun to have that be a part of our day. I broke out some creative decorating this year...

Abby used a lot of polka dots, but this one had a little swirl effect...

Chris made the King's Crown...

Paige used rubber bands for a tie dying effect...

I made a cross with glitter...

Adam's favorite...

Hannah's favorite...

Jenna said, "I tried to make Texas, but it turned into a fish. So this is my Texas Fish."

We then did some egg hunting...

All in all, it was a relaxing and fun day.

HE IS RISEN!
HE IS RISEN, INDEED!
HALLELUJAH!

  1. Easter in Texas is not as full when you are not in it. Sounds like you had a great day. I love the pictures and I really like Jenna's Texas Fish!! The colored fingers make me smile!
